Donut Muffins

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour

  • ¾ tsp. nutmeg

  • ½ tsp. salt

  • 2 tsp. baking powder

  • ¼ tsp. mace

  • 1 ½ tbsp. shortening

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1 egg

  • ¾ cup milk

  • ¼ cup butter

Instructions:

Combine flour, nutmeg, salt, baking powder, mace, shortening, ½ cup of sugar, egg, and milk in a large bowl. Fill greased muffin tins with a large spoonful of batter. Bake in 400-degree oven for 15 minutes. Dip tops of muffins in melted butter, then cinnamon and ½ cup of sugar mixture.
