Walnut Crescents

Ingredients:

  • ½ lb. + ¼ lb. of butter

  • 1 cup milk

  • 3 + 1 eggs

  • 1 ½ tbsp. baking powder

  • 5 cups flour

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1 tbsp. cinnamon

  • ½ cup walnuts

  • ½ cup raisins

  • 1 tbsp. confectioners sugar

Instructions:

Mix softened butter, milk, eggs, baking powder, and flour to make a soft dough and divide into 6 portions. Roll out each portion to the size of a dinner plate and cut into 8 slices. Combine sugar, cinnamon, walnuts, and raisins. Brush the cut dough with melted butter, then coat with sugar mixture. Roll each slice, beginning with the wide end, to the point. Curve crescent slightly and place on a cookie sheet point side up. Brush crescents with beaten egg, then bake in 375-degree oven for 25 minutes.
